You must send both the program PRC file and the plane database PDB file. To do this, select "Beam" from the dropdown menu at the top of the JetDat screen. The program beams as a free 10-day trial version. _____________ Using JetDat: After starting JetDat by tapping its "Jet Plane" icon on your device main menu, you will see the main menu*. To see data about various famous commercial jetlines, tap the button on the main menu to show planes for different plane manufacturers, then tap buttons for indivdual planes as desired. To return to the previous screen, tap the [<] button in the upper right corner of the screen. *Optionally, drop down the menu at the top of the screen and select to start with the trip Itinerary screen rather than the Main Menu. KEEPING YOUR TRIP ITINERARY: Tap the [Itinerary] button on the JetDat Main Menu to go to the trip Itinerary Summary screen. The 'Itinerary Summary' screen shows key data about up to two different journeys. One trip's data appears in the upper half of the screen. A different trip's data can display in the lower half of the screen. On a round trip, you may want to enter the departing trip information in the upper section and the return trip information in the lower section. You can enter as many trips as you wish. When the trip list has more than 4 records on it, a scroll bar will appear to let you access flights hidden from view. To open a previously created record for a flight, 'double tap' the flight on the list. The first tap highlights the record. A tap on a highlighted record opens that record for viewing, editing, or deleting. Any time a trip has more than one flight in its itinerary, Up and Down arrows appear above the trip list to let you move a flight of your journey up or down on the list, so you can keep things in order. To move a flight up,first tap ONCE on the flight you want to move, to highlight it. Then tap the Up arrow in the upper right area of the list. Likewise, to move a flight down on the list, highlight it then tap the appropriate Down arrow. Repeated taps will continute to move the flight lower in the list. To clear all data for a trip, tap the trashcan button in the upper right corner of the screen. You will asked if you want to clear the upper screen trip list or the lower screen trip list. To add a new flight to the list, tap one of the [+] buttons. Tap the appropriate [+] button to add to the upper trip list or the lower trip list. A blank trip information screen will then appear for you to fill in. At the top of the Itinerary Summary screen you can keep track of your 'frequent flyer number' and your current number of miles or kilometers credited to your flyer account. To go to the JetDat Main Menu, tap the [<] back button in the upper right corner of the screen. INDIVIDUAL FLIGHT ITINERARY RECORDS: When you tap the a [+] button to add a flight to your trip itinerary, you will be taken to a blank flight screen, ready for data entry. The only REQUIRED information on the Itinerary screen is the flight destination. You can enter data in any or all the other fields as desired. Use the pop-up time selector to enter the flight's departure and arrival times. The computer will automatically determine the flight's air time based on departure and arrival times you enter. If you are changing time zones during your trip, you need to indicate the number of zones you are crossing in order for the flight time to be correctly calculated. For example, if you are flying one zone to the east, enter the departure time in your starting time zone, enter the actual arrival time in the new time zone, then tap the [E] button ONCE to indicate that you are flying east one time zone. Likewise, if you are flying west 3 time zones, enter start and end times as above, then tap the [W] button 3 times to adjust for the time change. Use the device pop-up date selector to indicate the date of your flight. Keeping track of the Miles/KM flown on each leg of your trip can help you manually update your frequent flyer mileage later on the flight summary page. Changes made to the record are not actually saved until you tap the [<] 'back' button in the upper right corner of the screen. Once a record has been created, you can delete it later by tapping the trashcan button in the upper right corner of the screen. CONVERSIONS: The Conversions screen offers several handy calculators for travelers. You should first use the dropdown 'Conversion Type' selector at the top of the screen to indicate what type conversion you want to perform. The Currency converter lets you determine how much foreign items would cost if priced in your home currency. The Temperature converter lets you convert between the Fahrenheit and Celsius scales. The other converters show results of converting a given measurement to different units in the Imperial and Metric measurement systems. When you arrive at a foreign destination, you may want to use the dropdown menu at the top of the screen to set JetDat to go straight to the Conversions screen when the program starts, bypassing the 'Main Menu'. To use the Currency Converter, select Currency on the 'Select Conversion Type' dropdown list. You should indicate the name your home country's currency is know by, such as 'Dollar' or 'Euro'. You should also indicate the name of the currency in the country you are visiting. The program will then use these names to describe the conversion it will create. Next, you should indicate the amount of foreign currency that equals ONE unit of your home currency. This amount can generally be easily found at Currency Exchange stations in most airports and train stations. The currency names and exchange rate data you enter will be remembered by the program on subsequent program startups. Once the basic currency data and exchange rate is entered, you can convert back and forth between your home currency and the local currency at the place you are visiting. Enter the amount of currency you want to convert, then tap the [Calculate] button to display the conversion result. The other converters are very simple to use. Select the conversion type (Distance, Temperature, etc.), enter the number you want to convert, then indicate the units you want to convert from. The conversion results will be displayed in the lower portion of the screen. If you change the input number without changing the units of measure, tap the [=] button to perform the new conversion. To go to the JetDat Main Menu, tap the [<] back button in the upper right corner of the screen. -- END --
